Pianist, composer, and music educator Tom Moss,
BA (hons) Mmus,
was born in
Liverpool, England. On obtaining a music degree from
Liverpool University, he went on to gain a Masters degree in
Composition at the London College of
Music where he studied with Martin Ellerby.
After winning a prestigious Vivian Ellis Prize for new musical
theatre, he has
gone on to work extensively as a freelance composer,
arranger and musical director in music
theatre throughout the North West of England.
As well as writing music for numerous short films, promos,
jingles and adverts, his commissioners include BBC Radio 4
Drama, BBC Northern Ireland, North West Arts, Studio Music,
Action Transport Theatre, De Wolfe Music, Cellist Jonathan
Aasgaard, The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and BRM
Music Publishing.
He continues to live in Liverpool and counts amongst his
hobbies, an allotment, a wife and two beautiful sons, as
well as the odd pint down the local pub.
